.... that's about the number of breakwaters our coastline has. After the tourist season, waiting for favorable winds and an ideal tide, we were able to bridge the coastline by flyboarding last week. Low tide Ostend at 1.58 pm, on average 3-4 Bfrt NE at the sea, so pretty good conditions. But once we arrived at our departure point, the wind blew only a weak 2 Bfrt. 3 hours to flyboard to Ostend (halfway) was narrow. So on foot on the beach with all the equipment, ... an hour and a half to reach Blankenberge, ... luckily the wind started to pick up and we could continue boarding with an average speed of 30 km/h. Some breakwaters are easy to get across, others it was always on foot. Which, of course, quickly lowers the average speed to move forward. Fortunately, there are seaside resorts ``that are breakwater free``, including in Bredene, Oostduinkerke, where you can make up for lost time. To end the day we could spend the night on the slopes, Ice-Mountain at -6 degrees. This is to test our equipment for a future expedition.
